The Home Plate Club (HPC), chartered in Washington, D.C. as a charitable, non-profit organization in 1955, promotes the sport of baseball within the Washington D.C., Metropolitan area. The Bob Menefee Man of the Year Award honors a member of the region’s baseball community for their volunteer and charity work off the field. HPC recognized Will for his efforts in support of the military and families of fallen warriors through Operation Hawkeye, including a baseball fundraising campaign he led last summer/fall called STRIKE FORCE, which raised over $20,000 for a special operations charity called Gold Star Teen Adventures. Will is currently heading up a national version of the STRIKE FORCE in partnership with the American Baseball Coaches Association with the support of top baseball companies and media outlets such as Rawlings and Baseball America, through which high schools, colleges, and travel teams can leverage skills on the diamond to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in 2017.
