@GonzagaHoops Serves at Campus Kitchen – Ready for WCAC Playoffs {Seeded #2}

Monday may have been a holiday for the school, but it was a full day for Coach Turner and the varsity basketball Eagles. After practice in the morning, the boys helped Ms. Patty Tobin, Gonzaga’s longtime librarian, prepare meals for Gonzaga’s Campus Kitchen in the Jesuit Residence.  See photos here:

After completing the meal prep with the team, Coach Turner made his way to Fairfax, VA for the final regular game of the WCAC season with DeMatha visiting Paul VI to determine the final seeding in the upcoming tournament (February 24-27).  PVI won the game, forcing a coin toss for the top seed — PVI would win the toss, giving Gonzaga the #2 seed.  Here is what the bracket looks like for the weekend:

This year, the quarterfinal games will all be played on Friday (2/24) at the higher seed: Gonzaga hosts Bishop Ireton at 7:30pm in the Carmody Center. The Eagles defeated the Cardinals in both regular season match-ups: 65-48 at home on 1/22 and 61-50 at Ireton on 2/17.

Should the Eagles advance to the semifinals, they will face either St. John’s or St. Mary’s Ryken at 6:15pm at American University’s Bender Arena on Sunday, February 26.  The Boys Championship Game will be played on Monday night back at AU.
