PRESEASON TOP 20 RANKINGS
1. Gonzaga Final 2015-16 record: 24-10 (Final ranking: 19)
The Eagles have their entire starting lineup back this year, including reigning Washington Catholic Athletic Conference player of the year Chris Lykes (Miami).
Here is an excerpt from the Washington Post WCAC Preview:
Skinny: Gonzaga returns every starter from last year’s team, including at least four future Division I players. Reigning conference player of the year Chris Lykes will lead the charge after signing on to play his college basketball at Miami this offseason. The diminutive point guard has proved size does not matter in his case after averaging 22 points per game and electrifying crowds throughout the Washington area last winter with his playmaking ability. He’ll be supported by top 2018 prospects Prentiss Hubb and Myles Dread (Penn State) as well as 6-foot-6 Pennsylvania recruit Eddie Scott on the wing. The Eagles are ranked among the nation’s top teams this preseason, but how they deal with a relative lack of size against the WCAC’s bigger teams will determine the level of success for this campaign. . . .
