@GonzagaRowing Shows Well at Head of the Charles

Although Gonzaga Crew’s major competitions are in the Spring, the Fall is an important time for Coach Mandel’s groups to come together.  The Eagles traveled to Boston, MA for the annual Head of the Charles Regatta on 10/21 and competed on 10/22 & 10/23.  The Youth 8 finished 18th out of 85 crews:

The current Eagles were joined at the competition by a huge number of former Eye Street rowers.  Here is the impressive list of Alumni who were in Boston as well to compete:

In addition to the trip to Boston, the Eagles competed in the Occoquan Chase on 10/16:
Gonzaga finished 1st/9th/17th in the Junior 8+ and 1st/3rd/5th in the Junior 4+. Full results can be seen here.

And on 10/15, it was ” pleasure to have two of the inaugural members of the program out for Saturday practice — Kevin McHugh ’96 (left) and Luis Elizondo-Thomson ’96 (right) [SEE FEATURE PHOTO ABOVE] spent the morning with the team prior to their 20th reunion at Gonzaga.
