@GonzagaSwimDive Alum in Rio to cover Olympics

Jack Joyce ’14 is in Brazil with the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Media and Journalism to cover the 2016 Olympic Games in partnership with the Olympic News Service. Jack applied, interviewed, and was chosen to be part of this program, offered through UNC’s Study Abroad Program. He is interning with the Olympic News Service to assist in coverage of the Olympics from the press center and the sports venues.

The dean of the School of Media and Journalism sums up this amazing experience for Jack and the other Tar Heels:  “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students to have inside access, report on all of the action and interact with the athletes and international media outlets who will be there. This is the kind of immersive, global learning experience we want for our students.”

Jack returns to Chapel Hill on August 22 and begins his junior year on August 23.
