Lykes ’17 Shines at NBA Top 100 Camp

Chris Lykes’ has committed to University of Miami, but continues to be overlooked.  Going into the NBA Top 100 Camp, eyes were on two other top-ranked point guards.  However, Lykes rose up once again to lead his team to the championship.  Here are excerpts from media coverage from the event:

“Seven of the Heat’s 11 players scored at least nine points in the finale, with Washington, D.C., Gonzaga Prep point guard Chris Lykes (who plans to signed a national letter of intent with the University of Miami in November) leading the way with 25 points (hitting three of five shots from behind the arc) while being credited with four rebounds, three assists, a steal and no turnovers.” -Burlison on Basketballlykes leads team to title“Waters was named the co-MVP of the camp along with Zion Williamson.  Hands, a senior-to-be and UCLA commit from Foothills Christian (San Diego), was a steady performer and a slightly better shooter than Waters, though with more turnovers. Both players were outplayed in the final, however, by Miami commit Chris Lykes of Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)” – USA TODAY

Today, Lykes and his family spent time with “Sports Stars of Tomorrow” to shoot a piece that will air across the nation during the 2016-2017 school year.  Here is a photo outside of the Carmody Center:
