The 2016 Eagles had the number 7 in their sights all year along with a few other team goals. Winning the WCAC Championship for the seventh straight year was incredible but also sweeping the DC area local rivals to be the top team in the city was just as amazing. An incredible run by a senior class filled with grit, character, strength and humor! As they say in sports sometimes, “Its not about the hello but rather the goodbye.” The WCAC championship final game was a win over DeMatha by a score of 14-5 as the Goodbye. But these Eagles will tell you it was a pretty sweet Hello at the beginning of the season over Bullis 11-4.

Here is an excerpt from the latest RecruitingRundown Rankings:
Gonzaga (D.C.) slides into the No. 3 spot over former No. 2 Bullis (Md.), who won the program’s first IAC championship on Sunday night. Though it was on the first day of the regular season, the Eagles topped the Bulldogs 11-4 and have a stronger overall body of work in non-conference play. Casey O’Neill’s squad notched six wins over the Private School Top 25, while Bullis went undefeated against in-state competition. The Bulldogs had four wins over three different Top 25 teams, as Gonzaga had five teams in the top 14 of this week’s rankings. That mark along with a head-to-head blowout ultimately put Gonzaga ahead of Bullis, though who knows how different that game would play out if they matched up at the end of the season.
