On Sunday, April 10, 2016 – Patrick Hesse ’16, Luke McCaleb ’16, and Matthew Mulligan ’16 were honored at the National Football Foundation’s Tenth Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet. The three Gonzaga football Eagles, their parents, and head coach Randy Trivers enjoyed a great night at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.
A total of 45 football scholar-athletes from the D.C., MD, and VA area were recognized for their leadership, sportsmanship, competitive zeal, and the drive for academic excellence:
The evening’s program included a great keynote address from Mr. Jeff Monken, Head Football Coach of the Army Black Knights. There was also a presentation of seven (7) $1,000 scholarships, one of which was awarded to 2015 Captain Luke McCaleb:
The National Capital Region Chapter closed the evening with a couple of special recognition awards. One of which was awarded to Mr. James Fegan ’50 (pictured below, middle):
