The team highlight of the week for the varsity baseball Eagles was a 11-3 victory over the McNamara Mustangs on Saturday, April 23rd. The Eagles were held scoreless against PVI and DeMatha in the other two contests. At 10-10 overall the Eagles have three games this week, two in the league (Good Counsel and SJC).
The individual highlight of the week was Senior IF, Cullen McGee’s commitment to play at Centre College. Congrats Cullen.

“The Gonzaga Eagles Varsity beat McNamara on Saturday 11-3 at PG Sports Park in seven innings.
The Gonzaga Eagles Varsity scored four runs in the seventh on the Gonzaga Eagles Varsity scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Matt Flagg, a two-run double by James Delaney, and a sacrifice fly by Nick Lynch.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with five lead changes.
The Gonzaga Eagles Varsity finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fourth inning. The Gonzaga Eagles Varsity scored on a two-run double by James Delaney off Campbell, plating Nick Escoto and Flagg.
Amari Newman went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Gonzaga Eagles Varsity. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.
Will Thomas recorded the win for the Gonzaga Eagles Varsity. He allowed two runs over six innings. Thomas struck out five, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Campbell took the loss for McNamara. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out five.
The top of the first saw the Gonzaga Eagles Varsity take an early lead, 1-0.
