On December 13, 2015, Gonzaga College High School Alum, Roman Oben ’90 presented his golden football to President Father Planning, SJ during the school’s 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony.  The ball was presented in conjunction with the NFL’s year long celebration of its upcoming 50th Super Bowl on February 7, 2016.  Oben is a part of Super Bowl history as he was the starting left tackle for the Super Bowl 37 Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Oben is one of 3,000 players and coaches to make this special presentation of appreciation to his high school. Oben is currently the NFL’s Director of Youth & High School football, where he drives the league’s youth football strategy and develops new programs to encourage participation in tackle and flag football.

“There’s a legacy you guys have left, to make the impact on someone like me… One thing football did for me, it gave me confidence.  I salute the school, I salute you Father Planning – continue to help thousands of young men, like the school helped me.” -Roman Oben ’90
